ABOUT · MISSION AND METHOD

What we do, and why it works.

JJ's Friends buys tickets and parking so families raising children with intellectual and developmental disabilities can attend live professional sporting events together. That is the whole program. It is small on purpose, and it is specific on purpose.

Belonging should not require a ticket price.

  • Four tickets
  • Accessible seating
  • Parking
  • No application fee
  • No copay
  • No story required

Who this is for

The Whole Family

We fund four seats, not one. Siblings and parents are not an accommodation. They are the reason the day works.

No Diagnosis Gate

We do not ask for medical records or proof. A parent telling us what their family needs is enough.

Anyone Who Asks

Requests come from families, teachers, therapists, and case managers. We keep the door wider than the paperwork.

Radical Transparency

Every transaction published. No claim we cannot show you the arithmetic for.

Dignity First

No pity, no rescue narratives, no photographs traded for a ticket. Consent before any story is told.

Open to Everyone

Non-political and non-religious. Nothing about your family is asked beyond what a seat requires.

Leave It Better

Real power is leaving a place, and the people in it, better than you found them.

JJ's Friends is run by a board of three. No one is paid. Major financial decisions require a second board approval, and the founding roles of Chair and Executive Director are held together only during the founding period, then separated once the organization is funded.

We publish that arrangement rather than describe it vaguely, because a small board with concentrated authority is a real governance risk and pretending otherwise would be the first broken promise.

The program is simple enough to fund one game at a time.
