The Typeface

• Atkinson Hyperlegible.
• Commissioned by the Braille Institute.
• SIL Open Font License 1.1.
• Designed with input from a low-vision specialist and people with those conditions.
• Sits in a national design museum's permanent collection.

The Icon Language

• Based on 1970s U.S. DOT transit pictograms, released without copyright restriction (public domain).
• Glyphs drawn from scratch, but the visual grammar — solid, single color, silhouette — is borrowed deliberately.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is not used. It is a trademarked program, not a free asset.

"If it is ever right for this organization, we will join the program properly."

The Colors

• The Colorado flag — public property.
• The ratio was changed: heavy navy/white, gold and red as small accents.
• Done specifically to avoid implying affiliation with a Denver pro team that also uses navy/gold/red.
